Sushi Sho Grand Revamp - Melbourne

In this project, we transformed the space with a custom stone-styled concrete wall finish, wrapping the interior in a warm, organic surface that mimics the irregularity of natural rock. Applied across every wall except the spa and steps, the finish adds depth, tactility, and a handcrafted quality that sets the tone for the entire environment.

The concrete wall was designed to strike the perfect balance between raw, earthy character and refined architectural detailing. Using a custom-blended mix, our team built the surface in layers, starting with a strong, structural base to ensure durability and longevity.

Once set, a sculpted layer was applied and hand-shaped to achieve natural variations in depth and contour. Each ridge, recess, and irregularity was intentionally crafted, creating the look and feel of a wall carved from stone.

The surface was then lightly refined and sealed, preserving its tactile quality while ensuring resistance to wear. Strategic lighting enhances the rocky texture, casting shifting shadows that give the space a sense of movement and depth throughout the day.
